Existing SQL Database

Can you install the database to an existing SQL Server (ie dedicated MS SQL server), rather than using SQL Express?  Thanks

We can install a new SQL instance on the same server. If you want to install SQL on the existing SQL instance, we can do it. But we’ll charge $300 for the extra work. We will use TeamViewer to access the server.

Ok that’s good news. I’ll test locally and then discuss if needed.

For times when I am off the local network, will the POS run ok over VPN? Or is it best to use cloud in that instance?

VPN is not needed and not recommended.  The database connection is encrypted over internet.
