You cannot delete the user, but you can make it inactive.

From the employee setup screen, you can set an employee as inactive and render that employee unable to log into the system.

Log into the system, and then access the Setup menu. From the setup screen, select the Employee tab. Select the employee you want to deactivate, and un-check the Employee Active checkbox. Then use the Save button to save your changes.
